“W.W.W. is separated into three sections, representing different aspects of myself as an artist,” explains Dwele. The album is a collection of songs combining elements of both R&B and hip hop to express his personal and political views as filtered through the turbulent economy and political climate of today. Dwele continues, “With W.W.W., I wanted to do as Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway did. When you hear their music now, you feel exactly what the climate was at the time, and that’s the job of musicians, to talk about the world’s situation.”

Dwele was featured on the chorus of Kanye West’s smash hit, “Flashing Lights.” Recently, he also became the face and voice behind the launch of McDonald’s new product line, McCafe.

Being one of the most hard-working artists in South Africa at such a young age has paid off for JESSE CLEGG and all culminates in the Gold Award which was presented by David Gresham (CEO of The David Gresham Record Company) to Jesse in last night’s ceremony. BAND TOURING STATES THIS SUMMER WITH UPROAR FESTIVAL
Three-time Grammy nominees STONE SOUR have revealed that Audio Secrecy will be the title of their highly anticipated new album, which is slated for release later this year. The band and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Rush) are currently holed away at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, where they’re putting finishing touches on the much-buzzed-about record.

“Audio Secrecy is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for,” says lead singer Corey Taylor. “The dimensions go further than anything we’ve ever tried before. It’s metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it’s REAL. You can’t get an album like this out of a band that doesn’t exist. The band (vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarists James Root and Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) will be previewing select songs from Audio Secrecy during their performances on this summer¹s Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The 36-date tour launches August 17 in Minneapolis, MN and will visit arenas and amphitheatres across North America before wrapping October 4 in Madison, WI.

Audio Secrecy is the follow-up to the gold-certified Come What(ever) May, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and spawned three radio hits: “Sillyworld,” “Made of Scars,” and the No. 1 smash hit single “Through Glass.” Revolver magazine gave the disc four stars and praised the quintet for “demonstrating a dynamic range equaled by few of their peers.” Billboard hailed the record as “an intense, taut piece of work,” and Alternative Press called the group “masters of ass-kicking,” adding, “In a better America, Stone Sour would be the face of American rock.” Stone Sour’s self-titled debut, also certified gold, spawned the band’s first breakthrough hit “Bother,” which was spotlighted on Spider-Man soundtrack.

KORN III — REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE DUE MIDDLE OF 2010

Roadrunner Records announced today the worldwide signing of multi-platinum, genre-defining hard rock band Korn to the label. Korn III – Remember Who You Are is the band’s ninth album overall and their first album for their new label. It was produced by Ross Robinson, who also manned the boards for the band’s explosively definitive self-titled 1994 debut, as well as the follow up, 1996’s Life is Peachy.

Bursting onto and instantly dominating the hard rock scene in 1994, Korn have proven to be one of the pre-eminent bands in the world, as well as one of the most influential and significant bands on the hard rock musical landscape for the past two decades.

“We called this record Korn III — Remember Who You Are because it really feels like a return to that attitude we had on the first two records,” bassist Fieldy said. “And when it came to putting this record out, we could not think of anyone better to help us than Road runner, the only label that even understands rock music anymore.”

Fieldy also checked in from the band’s current tour, taking time to greet fans while the band was trekking around the snowy Alaskan terrain.

A major undertaking for Slash, he enlisted services of producing partner Eric Valentine (Queens of Stone Age, The All-American Rejects) and compiled a rhythm section of bassist Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) and drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails). Slash handled the majority of arranging and songwriting duties and hand-picked each guest artist. The album’s guests worked collaboratively with Slash to round out the song.

“The idea was really simple in the beginning,” said Slash. “These are all artists I wanted to work with – that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative. And I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job. And we had a lot of fun making these songs.”

The album will be released through Roadrunner Records in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa.

SLASH BACKGROUND
Slash is widely considered one of the greatest rock guitar players of all time. He has received countless accolades and awards including a 2007 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside his idols Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. Hailing from Newport Beach, CA, the 5 piece band has been making music together since high school. Influenced by Kings of Leon, The Strokes and The Shins, among others, the band has crafted its own unique “sun-soaked indie rock” sound. Having grown together musically for several years, Young the Giant self- released Shake My Hand EP under their former moniker, The Jakes, in 2008. Boston Media House’s open days are scheduled for the 23rd of January and the 13th February starting at 9:00 until 15:00. NUTTY NYS will be present at both days awarding the bursary on the 13th of February.

Jesse Clegg released his debut album, When I Wake Up, in October last year and it is already nearing Gold status and received 2 SAMA nominations . The first single, “Today“, has received extensive airtime, and shot up the charts in the first week it was released.

Jesse’s recent live performances , include sold out concerts at the Joburg Theatre, and an appearance at the “Mandela Day” concert held at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York. Expect to hear the Number 1 singles “Today” and “Heartbreak Street” as well as the upcoming 3rd single “Girl lost in the City”; other hot tracks from the album and even some unrecorded new material! Jesse Clegg had some surprise artists join him on stage in Johannesburg which I am sure he will repeat in Cape Town as well. Only include if we are certain.

Jesse was born in Johannesburg in 1988. By the time he was six months old he was on tour with his father, Johnny Clegg, and between 1988 and 1994 he spent at least five months a year on the road. He was a classic road kid and grew up backstage and on tour busses. In 1994 his father’s band broke up and the touring subsided. Jesse schooled in Johannesburg at Crawford College and matriculated with six distinctions in 2006.

In school Jesse experimented with a number of different instruments – including saxophone, clarinet, drums and piano – until he finally settled on guitar. He started playing when he was about 13, focusing mostly on chord structures and simple licks.

Early on, Jesse carved out an independent direction for himself in the rock genre, very different from the world music style developed by his dad. As someone who grew up with a successful musical father, he strived to express himself in the most authentic way possible and understood the importance of being able to perform live.

After Jesse matriculated, he took a gap year to record more demo tracks and put together an album. He also started a band which gave him the opportunity to rehearse and perform some of the songs around Johannesburg – appearing under a number of different band names. It was here that a few of the songs took shape in terms of arrangement and guitar sounds. By this time, Jesse was looking to professionally record the songs with producer Brian O’Shea, who joined the project and they began work on what was to be the final album, When I Wake Up.

The highlight of Jesse’s career came in June 2007 when he got the opportunity to tour internationally with his father Johnny Clegg once again. He performed alongside his father at a number of festivals in France to crowds of more than 10 000 people. Another highlight for Jesse was when a major Belgian producer, Nicolas Fizman, agreed to co-produce his album alongside Brian O’Shea. By the end of 2007 the album was completed and in early 2008 he signed a major record deal with David Gresham Records.

David Gresham Records have been inundated with phone calls from hysterical ‘Nka Mo Dira’ fans asking why only parts of the video are shown on the news. They have even been contacted by government asking where they can get the new lyrics to the new national anthem. As stated in the headlines in the Nutty Nys video. Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana ahs even called the company asking where he can get Nutty United players for 2010 World Cup training squad.

Nutty Nys has been hard at work getting his Code 23 license to drive the Gautrain and says he’s making fast progress and should be ready after he broke all the records…

The reason for this interview taking place was that sometime earlier on john Lennon had made an alleged remark something to the effect of….”The Beatles being bigger than Christ”. Due to this alleged statement South African Broadcasting Corporation (owner of all broadcasting at the time, including the countries national commercial radio station “Springbok Radio”) banned all forms of music by the Beatles outright.

In June 1969 when Gresham was in London & had mentioned this to Lennon’s manager, they were absolutely shocked at this decision which eventually led to Lennon inviting Gresham to interview him on this particular subject, where he felt a discussion & an apology was necessary.
